This project included adding 15 EV car charging receptacles to the existing Draper garage, utilizing the existing 400A 3 phase 480V panel to feed a new 112.5 KVA transformer. The project also included adding a new 208V panelboard sized for the EV load.
The existing 400A panelboard currently has (2) 200A buckets, (1) 100A bucket, (1) 30A bucket, and (1) 60A bucket. The scope of the project was to add (15) 30A-2P single phase twist lock outlets for employee car chargers. The scope also included a new 112.5 KVA transformer fed from the existing 400A 480V panel. A new 225A 208V panelboard was then added to support the (15) 30A twist lock receptacles. The employee chargers are programmable as to never draw more than 16A at any time.
